Tudar — A platform that connects tutors and students together.
Project Description
Collaborating with a team of developers in a startup project. My role is to collect and organize the product requirements based on research data, create personas and user flows, create low & high fidelity mockups, and execute usability testings.
Client: Tudar
Services: UI/UX, Graphic Design
Period: June 2017 - August 2017
Problem Space
Unaffordable
I used to work at a tutor school. The school usually charge a student for $65 per hour, but they only pay the tutor for $25 or less depending on their qualification. Therefore, over 60% of the hourly fee is being taken away by the school.
Inconvenient
The school was located in Richmond, and I had met a student, who came from White Rock. Back and forth, it took the student more than 2 hours time of taking transit.
inefficient
When students came in for a specific class, they would tell them that they had a tutor, who could teach the class, but they would talk to the tutor first and contact them later. Most of the time, the school didn't have the tutor and they would try to find one from online after a student requested a class. This process usually took a few days or more than a week.
Approach
Almost everybody has been in a situation, where they need a tutor for their assignments, but they can’t find one. As a startup project, me and two other developers want to create a platform that offers affordable and convenient tutoring service. It can connect people, who need help and people who want to teach for earning. Imagine that you have an app like Uber. It connects you with a network of tutoring service, where you can find an affordable and qualified tutor base on your location.
